detailed microstructural evolutions of twip steel during tensile straining: in situ sem observations
Authors
abstract
microstructural evolutions of twinning induced plasticity (twip) steel during tensile straining wereinvestigated by in situ sem observations. the results indicated that slip lines and mechanical twins aswell as surface relief were increased with increasing strain, resulting in a stepped surface. additionally, these deformation mechanisms could change the shape of each grain via shear and rotation. nonuniformlydistributed strain within grains led to change in the misorientation or banding of deformationmarkings with further straining.

full textIn-situ Investigation of Grain Rotations during Tensile Straining of Steel Wires
A new indexing procedure based on the direct measurement of the possible grain orientation is presented to characterize single grains within the frame of three-dimensional X-ray diffraction. Depending on the number of reflections considered, the accuracy of grain orientation may be less than 0.1°. The newly developed indexing method was applied to characterize orientation changes of single grai...
full textThe Effect of Deformation Temperature on the Mechanical Properties and Microstructural Evolutions of High Manganese TWIP Steel
In this study, the effect of tensile test temperature (148 to 673 K) on the microstructural evolutions and the mechanical properties of high manganese twinning induced plasticity (TWIP) steel with the chemical composition of Fe- 31Mn-3Al-3Si (wt. %) was investigated. XRD, SEM and TEM were used to study the microstructural evolutions. Stacking fault energy (SFE) of the alloy was also calculated ...
full textStress–strain response and microstructural evolution of a FeMnCAl TWIP steel during tension–compression tests
The stress–strain response of a Fe–17.5Mn–0.7C–2Al TWIP steel during cyclic loading has been investigated by means of tension–compression tests within the strain limits of 72%, 75% and 710%. In addition, the microstructural evolution during the 75% cyclic test has also been studied. The difference between the forward and reverse stress for each pre-strain has been analyzed at 0.2% offset strain...

full textMicrostructural Evolution of X45CrNiW189 Valve Steel During Hot Deformation
The hot compression tests were carried on X45CrNiW189 valve steel (X45) in the temperature range of 1000– 1200 °C and the strain rate range of 0.004 – 0.5 s-1 in order to study the high temperature softening behavior of this steel. For the exact prediction of flow stress, the effective stress-effective strain curves were obtained from experiments under various conditions. On the basis of experi...
